Flexible Ticketing Modes
Commuters have the flexibility to choose from different ticketing modes, including QR code-based one-time tickets and card-based transit options for all journeys. The introduction of paper QR code-based tickets, which can be generated via ticket vending machines or purchased from ticket counters at stations, brings convenience to passengers’ fingertips. These ticket vending machines are UPI-enabled, allowing passengers to recharge their National Common Mobility Cards swiftly.
Seamless Connectivity: A Glimpse into the Future
With the inauguration of the RAPIDX project by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 20, the priority section between Duhai and Sahibabad, covering 17 kilometers and comprising five stations, marks the beginning of a transformative journey. Anticipated to be completed in 2025, the Delhi-Meerut RRTS will cover a remarkable 82 kilometers within an hour, setting a new standard in regional connectivity. The trains, with a maximum operational speed of 160 kmph, outpace both metro trains and Indian Railways’ passenger trains, promising a swift and efficient commute for all passengers.
Continued Progress: Looking Ahead
The commitment to providing efficient and hassle-free travel experiences is evident in the ongoing developments within the RRTS project. As Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently inspected the RapidX corridor in Ghaziabad, significant progress was noted. The upcoming section from Ghaziabad to Meerut South, slated to be ready in six months, further strengthens the promise of enhanced connectivity in the region.
Digital Innovation in Ticketing
In alignment with the “Digital India” initiative, Paytm’s collaboration with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for QR code-based ticketing is a testament to the evolving landscape of urban transportation. This digital ticketing solution not only reduces queues but also ensures a seamless experience for metro commuters. It reflects the industry’s dedication to embracing technology for the benefit of passengers.
